You’ll work hard, well, and in a healthy environment. In other words, you are expected to meet deliverables on time, every time — or, if there is a barrier, figure out ways to work around it, or communicate with the team to seek help. 

Full-time hours are limited to a compact, 35-hour work week. Team Members set their own hours, and we encourage four-day work weeks.

Freelance and part-time hours are capped at 20 hours a week or less. For those who are interested in full-time opportunities, we may offer opportunities to transition to a full-time position if one becomes available and the transition is mutually beneficial to the individual and the firm.


ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

We are currently seeking an editor who is passionate about ending oppression. Job responsibilities are as follows: 
  • Write, proofread, and copy edit various types of content to support writing needs for our website redesign text, social media, digital ads, data analytics reports, and other writing/editing for our clients
  • Ensure a consistent voice and adherence to content’s intended scope, as well as our quality standards and style guidelines
  • Brainstorm story ideas for our firm and client communications channels
  • Fact-check to verify details and authenticate legitimate sources
  • Attend calendared meetings as scheduled
  • Proactively inform the firm and its clients of any assignment-related difficulties as they are detected
  • Ensure texts are properly researched
  • Maintain originality in their work
  • Proofread assignments to detect and correct errors
  • Submit completed work via the requisite channels
  • Monitor and log hours spent on each assignment
  • Make recommendations for ad-hoc internal teams to meet client or firm goals

You may be a great fit for this position if you have: 
  • A love the written word
  • Passion for writing and editing, including a genuine enthusiasm for storytelling, language, and the craft of writing/editing
  • Master’s degree in creative writing, journalism, or an adjacent field
  • Strong writing skills demonstrated ability to write clear, concise, and engaging content across various formats, such as articles, blog posts, marketing materials, and social media posts
  • Exceptional editing and proofreading abilities, including a proficiency in reviewing and revising written content for grammar, punctuation, style, and coherence
  • Ability to catch errors and inconsistencies in written material and ensure accuracy and consistency throughout

This is a remote position.

Compensation: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
